Four Discipleship Stages

The Disciple is a seeker who is beginning to be aware of God’s existence and calling. He/she is exploring what it means to follow Christ. This stage culminates in receiving Christ and baptism.

The Disciple has been baptized and is now laying important foundations of faith encompassing all 5 facets of the Christian life. This stage culminates in being confirmed, active in a cell group, regular in worship and other basic spiritual habits.

The Disciple is committed to Christ and well-grafted into the life of the church. He/she is bearing fruit of Christlike character as well as Spirit-led ministry and mission. He/she continues to grow in faith, spirituality and community with other disciples, and helps others to grow as well.

The Disciple is established in faith, in Christlike character and in the faith community. He/she is learning to find joy and peace in trials of life and ministry and to help others to do so. He/she continues to grow in love for God and for others, looking only for Christ’s reward in eternity.

A disciple matures at each Growth Stage through intentional GROWTH STEPS
